“I believe in the power of activating didactics and education that is based on the confidence of a student who is willing to learn.”
PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
My career began in the field of Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy. Following my studies, I was invited to teach Physics at Hogeschool Haarlem, a role that started modestly but grew in significance. Concurrently, I worked as an RTT in The Hague. There, I discovered the profound impact of genuine patient interaction on their treatment experience. Similarly, as a lecturer, I found that forging real connections with students and acknowledging their individual stories and needs creates a nurturing environment that supports their development.
During my physics teacher training, I spent a year at a secondary school in Leiden, teaching physics to final-year students. These students, having diverged from traditional educational paths, were nevertheless keen to learn.
At Inholland University of Applied Sciences, I’ve held various roles and am grateful for such a supportive employer and team. My experience extends beyond teaching; I’ve extensively engaged in developing and implementing blended education, including organizing and delivering (international) hybrid education that merges in-person and online participants.
PRESENT PROFESSIONAL PURSUITS
In January 2022, I launched into an exciting new chapter as a freelance EduTech consultant. This role represents a harmonious blend of innovation and expertise, complementing my ongoing commitments at Inholland University of Applied Sciences, where I continue to contribute my skills and knowledge.
My journey at Inholland has been rich with experiences, notably beginning in September 2021 as a Blended Learning Advisor. This position allows me to channel my passion for integrating technology with traditional teaching methods, thereby enhancing the educational experience. Additionally, I play a critical role as a researcher within the Medical Technology Research Group.
My educational philosophy centers on the efficacy of active teaching methods and a belief in fostering a learning environment rooted in students’ confidence and willingness to learn.
